LSSU provides students with opportunities for academic, professional, cultural and social growth through work-study assignments, student organizations and internships; community outreach activities; leadership education sessions and educational outreach initiatives. LFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned and run by you, our members. Unlike profit-driven banks or finance companies, excess earnings from our operations are returned directly back to our members in the form of friendly service, low loan interest rates, higher savings yields and no fee convenience services. Established in 1958, we’ve grown into one of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula’s premier credit unions!

Routing number & locations

Lake Superior Credit Union’s routing number is 291173128 and can be found on your check or by logging into our online banking portal. This number is often required when requesting direct deposits from outside sources like employers or government agencies.

Routing numbers (ABA Routing Transit Numbers) are used to identify financial institutions and enable certain transactions such as ACH and wire transfers.

When applying for a loan at Lake Superior Credit Union, your routing number may also be necessary. In order to become a member, however, a $5.00 share/savings account must be opened and maintained as part of membership requirements.

Checking

LSCU provides a full selection of banking services, from online and mobile banking, ATM fee reimbursements, community involvement programs and helping their members meet their financial goals.

Join SCCU by opening a Membership Savings account with at least $5 in it – once this minimum balance requirement has been met, you can take advantage of all its fantastic services!

Superior Choice Credit Union stands apart from profit-driven banks by operating as a not-for-profit financial cooperative, returning profits back to members in the form of competitive rates, low fees and friendly service. Their field of membership encompasses anyone living, working, worshipping or attending school within Minnesota’s St. Louis Carlton Itasca counties as well as Wisconsin Douglas Lake Superior counties.

Savings

LMCU members can save money with its Max Checking account, offering an impressive 3% annual percentage yield on balances up to $15,000. Plus, out-of-network ATM fees will be reimbursed! In order to qualify, members must conduct at least ten debit or credit card transactions each month, log into online or mobile banking app four times and opt in for electronic statements.

Students and staff of Lake Superior College are eligible to join Lake Superior Credit Union, offering financial services that fit their lives as well as providing a connection with the community and resource for financial questions or planning needs. Their newest branch can be found right on campus with an on-site banker and ATM for easy accessibility.

Loans & credit cards

Membership at our not-for-profit and member owned financial cooperative is non-profit and member owned. Excess earnings are distributed back to members in the form of low loan rates, high yield savings accounts and convenient services at no or low costs. Membership is open to anyone living, working, worshipping or attending school in Allen, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Darke, Franklin Fulton Hamilton Hancock Hardin Henry Logan Marion Mercer Miami Putnam Shelby Wayne or Wood Counties of Ohio as well as Schoolcraft County Michigan; $5 depositing into an investment account in order to become part of this cooperative!

Every year, you receive a letter showing your pension payment from the previous year as well as providing information regarding survivor, equated or severance plan options.
