Allegan Credit Union Merges With Rivertown Federal Credit Union

Allegan Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution offering savings and low-rate loans at competitive rates to members. Services provided include online banking, mobile apps, shared service centers, credit cards, notary/money order service (notary services available 24/7), night depository service, American Express traveler’s cheques as well as competitive loan rates with flexible terms based in Allegan, Michigan.

Mergers between local community-based financial institutions can be highly advantageous for communities as they provide greater scale to serve members. This is particularly relevant given today’s highly regulated and competitive environment in which it has become harder for smaller players to compete effectively.

Rivertown Community Federal Credit Union and Allegan Credit Union’s proposed merger is intended to bring greater scale to both organizations while still allowing each one to maintain its individual brands. Under one brand name, however, both credit unions will operate separately while maintaining distinct identities.

Kris began his career at a credit union in 1990, serving in multiple managerial capacities since. Among many projects during this timeframe, he spearheaded a major renovation of Allegan branch as well as creating a refreshed brand identity and in-branch experience that resonates with younger demographics while reflecting casual next-door neighbor culture in Allegan community.
